volleyball led in every set Friday before losing 25-17, 25-16, 25-14 to NAIA No. 6
Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders (21-3) extended their home win streak
to 69 matches and snapped the 11-match overall win streak of the Gold Nuggets (17-5).
XULA will play twice Saturday at Campbellsville University
in Campbellsville, Ky.: 11 a.m. EDT against Fisk, then 3 p.m. against the host Lady Tigers.
Lindsey Wilson, the 2017 NAIA national champion,
outhit XULA .362 to .067 and limited the Gold Nuggets to their lowest
hitting percentage in nearly three years.
XULA led 8-6 and 9-8 in the first set, 2-0 and 4-3 in the
second set and 10-9 in the third.
Kayla Black had 11 kills for the Gold Nuggets,
and
Adili Rikondja and
Vivica Price-Spraggins had five kills apiece.
Rikondja hit .273 in 11 attacks and was the only Gold Nugget to hit higher than .200.
Price-Spraggins served two aces and had three blocks.
Eva Le Guillou had 21 assists, two kills,
six digs and two blocks, and
Taylor Ducros had 11 digs.
Rikondja and
Elena Duru had two blocks apiece.
Sarah Cruz had 13 kills and hit .375 for Lindsey Wilson,
and
Klara Mikelova had 11 kills and hit .391. Paulina Sobolewska had six blocks,
and Lilo Larzelere had 11 digs.
Lindsey Wilson had advantages of 44-26 in kills, 8-2 in aces,
39-33 in digs and 10-6 in blocks. XULA's ace total was a season low.
