NEW ORLEANS — For the second time this month, Xavier University of Louisiana's Rayshawn Mart is the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball.
     Mart — a 6-foot-3 junior guard from Houma, La., and a graduate of H.L. Beourgeois High School — was honored for Nov. 18-24 after averaging 24.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and four assists during XULA's 3-0 week. Mart tied his career high with 25 points in a 72-70 overtime home victory against Wiley, then topped it with 34 points in a 100-86 victory at Texas College.
     Mart also won the GCAC honor for Nov. 4-10 after averaging 21 points, 6.5 rebounds and five assists in two games. Mart scored 25 points — 21 in the second half — in an 80-66 home victory against NAIA No. 7 William Carey.
