NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
 women's basketball, led by 
Nina German's career-best 21 points, closed the regular season
  Sunday with a 103-47 thumping of Carver.
	
        It's the first time that the XULA women have
 won by 50-or-more points in consecutive games. They beat Carver 89-39 Saturday, also at home.
 
        German was 7-of-11 from the floor, 3-of-5
 on 3-pointers and 4-of-4 from the line in slightly less than 22 minutes. The junior guard
  from Jackson, Miss., also had five rebounds, four assists, four steals and zero turnovers.
	
	        Next for XULA (9-6) will be an opening-round
	 game Feb. 24 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Opponent and venue have yet to be determined.
	 
        
Jelisa Smith's 3-pointer with 1:44 remaining
 made it 101-42. It's the sixth time during 
Bo Browder's 22 seasons as head coach that
  XULA reached 100 points and the first time since Jan. 7, 2019.
	
	        
Paris Jack made two free throws with
	 1:11 remaining to give XULA its largest lead, 103-43.
	
        Smith and 
Nia Bishop also made three 3-pointers to help 
 XULA finish with a season-high 10.
 
 
         Bishop produced 15 points, eight assists, three steals
  and zero turnovers, and 
Victory Udechi had 10 points, 12 rebounds — her second double-double of
	 the season and second straight game with double-figure rebounds — and three steals.
	
Abryhia Irons, 
Da'Jha Virgil, 
Jaleah LaFargue and Smith scored nine points apiece, and 
O.C. Mbakop Ngassam
	 had eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
	 
	         LaFargue overcame first-half foul trouble to finish with four assists and four steals. 
	 LaFargue and Irons grabbed six rebounds apiece.
	
	          XULA outshot Carver 44.9 to 25.5 percent from the floor
	  and outrebounded the Lady Cougars 60-40. XULA committed 13 turnovers and gained 31. 
		 The winning margin was XULA's largest ever at the Convocation Center, which is in its ninth season,
		  and its largest overall since a 99-43 victory against Concordia (Ala.) on  Nov. 23, 2009, 
			at XULA's previous home, The Barn.
			
			          Deshae Holiday had 14 points, five rebounds
			  and five assists for Carver (1-6), and Amani Fitzpatrick
			  had 11 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
				
				         XULA led 31-9 through one quarter, 52-23 
				 at halftime and 77-37 through three quarters.
