ALEXANDRIA, La. — Bailey Hughes hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday to give LSU-Alexandria a 6-4 victory against Xavier University of Louisiana and complete a doubleheader sweep.
LSUA won the opener 9-1.
XULA built a 4-0 lead by scoring twice in the first inning and twice in the fourth.

Kassidy Moore with the first run, and
Destyn Jones singled home
Tamia Washington to make it 2-0.
XULA extended its lead when Jones and
Vivionna Robles scored on a two-out error after
Najah Nicholas singled to center.
XULA's offensive leaders for the doubleheader were Jones with two hits, two walks, a run and an RBI and Moore with two hits, two runs, a walk and 3-of-3 stolen bases.
LSUA had more extra-base hits in the doubleheader (8) than Xavier had hits (6, all singles).
XULA, in its first-ever season of softball, is 3-12. LSUA is 13-9.
Next for XULA will be a noon Saturday home doubleheader against Talladega at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
