LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Xavier University of Louisiana scored four-or-more runs in an inning three times and cruised to a 16-5 baseball victory Sunday against Crowley's Ridge in the losers bracket of the Association of Independent Institutions Championship tournament.
The game was stopped in the middle of the seventh inning because of the 10-run rule.
Third-seeded XULA (27-10) will play second-seeded Fisher (30-19) in another elimination game at 7 p.m. EDT Sunday. The winner will advance to the finals Monday against top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett and receive one of the A.I.I.'s two automatic bids to NAIA narionals.
Six from XULA had two-or-more RBIs, led by
Michael Sonn with four. Sonn and
Danny Coleman hit home runs.
XULA took the lead for good during a four-run third inning — that made it 5-2 — and XULA tacked on six runs in the fourth inning and five in the sixth.

Juwan Fitch worked 6 1/3 innings and got the victory.
Crowley's Ridge (21-28) was 0-2 in the tournament.
In the first game Sunday, Georgia Gwinnett defeated Fisher 12-4.
Fisher defeated XULA 11-7 in the first round Saturday.
