71-67 men's basketball victory against Jarvis Christian.
XULA scored the final five points
to erase the Bulldogs' 67-66 lead.
Joseph Scott made 1-of-2 free throws with
1:15 remaining, and a
TJ Jones basket with 25 seconds remaining put the Gold
Rush ahead to stay.
Jarvis Christian put Richard on the line
after
Corey Dunning produced a steal with six seconds remaining.
Richard finished with 19 points and seven rebounds for the Gold Rush
(14-4 overall, 5-3 Red River Athletic Conference).
Teammate
Jalen King had 10 points and 10 rebounds — his fourth double-double this season.
The Gold Rush made 10 3-pointers, four by Richard and three by
Nigel Allen.
Desmond McNiel scored 13 points for the Bulldogs (4-12, 0-8), who rallied
from a 9-2 deficit to take a 34-33 halftime lead.
XULA will play RRAC leader LSU-Alexandria, ranked
11th in the NAIA, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at XULA's Convocation Center.
