WAXAHACHIE, Texas —
Riley Burcham had four kills, three blocks, 28 assists and 10 digs Saturday
to help NAIA No. 8 SAGU defeat Xavier University of Louisiana
25-12, 25-18, 25-17 in women's volleyball.
The Lady Lions are 27-0.
Kennedy Wade, with 10 kills,
was the only XULA player with more than three.
Kendall Mack and
Adaeze Crenshaw
had four blocks apiece for the Gold Nuggets, and
Charity Metcalf had nine assists
and nine digs.
Ava Myers had nine kills, Lilly Hanna
had six blocks, and Tessa Glick had 17 digs for SAGU.
SAGU outhit XULA .245 to .009 and had a 54-36 advantage in digs.
It was XULA's final regular-season
road match and its second of the day. The Gold Nuggets won at Paul Quinn during
the morning. XULA will play a Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader
— matches at 4 and 6 p.m. — Friday against Louisiana Christian
at the Convocation Center as part of XULA's homecoming week. XULA will
play host to the RRAC Tournament Nov. 11-12.
