DALLAS — Jeremy Lindsey scored
25 points Saturday to lead NAIA No. 22 Xavier University
of Louisiana to an 81-55 Red River Athletic Conference men's
basketball victory against Paul Quinn.
The Gold Rush (6-1 overall, 2-0 RRAC)
will take semester exams Dec. 7-13, then return to competition
Dec. 14 in a 7:30 p.m. RRAC game against Texas College at XULA's Convocation Center.
XULA led 43-28 at halftime and
produced its largest winning margin and fewest points allowed this season.
Lindsey was 9-of-13 from the floor,
5-of-6 on 3-pointers and 2-of-3 from the line in 30 minutes.
Lance Williams scored 14 points,
Cory Wells 13 and Tracy Steele 10 for the Gold Rush. Corey Dunning and
Jathen Ross grabbed five rebounds apiece, and TJ Jones had four assists.
Steele made both his 3-point attempts,
and the Gold Rush finished 10-of-19 from long range.
XULA outshot Paul Quinn 50.8 to 34.5 percent from the floor.
Both teams grabbed 39 rebounds.
Norris Williams scored 16 points,
and Richard Lemboye had 13 points and nine rebounds
for Paul Quinn (1-3, 1-1). The teams will meet again Jan. 27 at XULA.
