NEW ORLEANS — Kashie Natt scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half Thursday to rally LSU-Alexandria to a 78-76 Red River Athletic Conference men's basketball victory against NAIA No. 21 Xavier University of Louisiana.
The Generals trailed 64-46 with nine minutes remaining and 73-57 with four minutes remaining.
Natt's steal and basket with nine seconds remaining broke a tie at 76 and gave LSUA its first lead since the third minute.
Jeremy Lindsey scored a career-high 26 points for XULA, and teammate
Lance Williams scored a season-high 21.
J'Quan Ewing, in his third game since transferring from NCAA Division I Southern, grabbed 10 rebounds.
XULA missed eight free throws in the final 6 1/2 minutes.
XULA (9-3 overall) and LSUA (7-5) are tied for second place in the RRAC at 5-2. NAIA No. 4 LSU-Shreveport, which began the day in a first-place tie with XULA, won 78-67 at home against Jarvis Christian. Also 5-2 is North American, XULA's Monday opponent.
XULA will play host to RRAC opponent Louisiana Christian at 4 p.m. Saturday. That will be the second game of a doubleheader; the XULA and LCU women will tip off at 2 p.m.
