NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana women's volleyball hit .333 in the final two sets Friday — .250 overall — in a 25-13, 25-12, 25-8 Red River Athletic Conference victory against Texas College.
        The Gold Nuggets (10-13 overall, 7-2 RRAC) have won seven of their last nine matches overall and seven straight in conference.
        Kamea Uitenham had eight kills, two aces, one block and seven digs for the Gold Nuggets. Laila Person had seven kills and hit a season-high .500, Kennedy Campbell matched her season high with five blocks, Taylor Parker had six blocks, and Ruxandra Flueras and Olivia Arroyo had eight digs apiece.
        Flueras increased her five-year college total to 2,202 digs, 729 in two XULA seasons.
        XULA's defense limited Texas College to minus-.105 hitting and 17 kills. A'Miya Jordan had seven kills for the Steers (1-12, 0-9).
        The match ended in 58 minutes.
        XULA remained in third place in the Red River, one match behind Texas A&M-Texarkana and Our Lady of the Lake in the loss column.
        XULA and Texas College will meet at noon Saturday to conclude their two-match series. Admission is free to students, staff and faculty with a valid XULA ID.
