DALLAS - The Gold Nuggets suffered a heartbreaking defeat Wednesday night, falling by just two points, 58-56, to the North Texas-Dallas Trailblazers in RRAC action.

A rough second quarter, one in which UNT-Dallas (4-2, 3-1 RRAC) outscored Xavier 20-7, proved the difference in the contest. The Gold Nuggets (3-4, 0-2 RRAC) fought their way back into the game but were never able to regain the lead. 

Three Xavier women scored in double figures on the night. Tiara Tillison led the way with 19 points to go along with 5 assists and 4 steals. 

Shania Swan added 14 points and 6 rebounds while Alicia Blanton scored 11. Fatima Katembo led the team with 7 rebounds. 

Xavier remains on the road for its next contest, a Saturday Red River Athletics Conference game against Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico. Tipoff for that contest will be 1 p.m. 

The Gold Nuggets return home Dec. 18 with a conference game against Our Lady of the Lake.
