NEW ORLEANS - The Gold Nuggets fell just short in their Saturday RRAC contest, falling 61-57 to Texas A&M San Antonio in the last game of 2025. 

Xavier (5-5, 2-3 RRAC) played the Jaguars (9-4, 6-1 RRAC) close throughout, but a fourth-quarter surge by San Antonio, currently ranked second in the Red River Athletic Conference, proved the difference. 

Both teams struggled from the field, with Xavier shooting 35.4 percent and San Antonio 41.8 percent in the game. 

Alician Blanton was the top scorer for the Gold Nuggets, putting up 13 points along with 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. 

Shania Swan added 11 points, while Fatima black scored 8 points and pulled down 9 boards. Tiarra Tillison and Reina Alamillo added 8 and 7 points, respectively. 

XULA will be on a short break over the next two weeks, but will return to action on Jan. 3 with a conference home game against North American.
