NEW ORLEANS —
Left-hander Isaac Rohde did not allow a hit the first six innings Thursday,
and Josh Gibson drove in three runs to lead NAIA No. 1 LSU-Shreveport
to a 10-1 Red River Athletic Conference baseball
victory against Xavier University of Louisiana.
The Gold Rush (4-11 overall,
3-7 RRAC) and Pilots (20-0, 7-0) will play a 1 p.m. Friday doubleheader
at Skelly-Rupp Stadium (2515 Vespasian Blvd, zip 70114)
to conclude their three-game series.
Rohde (5-0) retired the first
nine XULA batters and did not allow a hit until
Miles Peterson
led off the seventh with a single. Peterson stole second base, then
scored on
Jayden Smith's single.
Rohde, the RRAC Pitcher of the Year
in 2024, struck out 10 in seven innings.
