NEW ORLEANS - The Xavier women's basketball team's perfect start continued Friday night, as the Gold Nuggets defeated crosstown rival Dillard 50-43 on the Bleu Devils' floor.

XULA (3-0) got a third consecutive double-double from graduate student post player Faith Robinson, the reigning SSAC offensive and defensive player of the week, who posted 12 points and 13 rebounds as well as 2 steals and a block.

Guard Jakayla Gilmer had another strong game, scoring 11 points to go along with 7 boards, 3 assists, and a steal.

Forward Tracy Thomas came off the bench to score 10 points and pull 5 rebounds, while senior Jala Williams had 4 steals and 5 rebounds.

Xavier coach Bo Browder continued his long history of outdueling the Bleu Devils. Friday marked the 52nd win of his career against Dillard, with just 11 losses.

Up next for the Gold Nuggets will be a Tuesday visit to Lafayette for an exhibition game against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. The game tips off at 6 p.m. XULA will then return home for a Saturday, Nov. 7, Homecoming showdown with Huston Tillotson.
