Gold Rush drop game to SUNO at Homecoming

NEW ORLEANS - A late-game scoring drought cost the Gold Rush in their Homecoming 2026 game in the Convocation Center Saturday night, with Xavier falling 75-58 to in-city opponent SUNO.

XULA (2-2) trailed 40-38 at the half and were within two possessions for much of the game, but SUNO (2-1) made a late run to pull away.

Dez Perkins and Elijah Pichon were the team leaders in terms of offense, with Perkins scoring a team-high 17 points to go along with 5 rebounds, an assist, and a block.

Pichon added 14 points and a team-high 8 rebounds, as well as 4 assists and 3 steals. Meanwhile, Leon Williams scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while D'Ron McZeal came off the bench to score 6 points and make 3 steals.
