NEW ORLEANS - The Xavier women's basketball team won its fourth game out of its last five here Thursday night, defeating Texas College 54-39 in Red River Athletic Conference play. 

XULA (17-10, 13-8 RRAC) forced Texas College (10-17, 8-13) into 38 turnovers, which the Gold Nuggets converted into a game-defining 30 points. 

Post player Fatima Katembo has a season-best night for Xavier, leading all scorers with 17 points and 7 rebounds. 

Jaleah LaFargue had a wonderful game on defense, swiping 5 steals and blocking 2 shots while scoring 8 points. 

Alicia Blanton and Jala Williams scored 9 points apiece, with Blanton adding 6 rebounds and Williams 3 steals. 

Xavier closes its 25-26 regular season with a Saturday home game against Jarvis Christian. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
