ALEXANDRIA, La. - The Gold Rush came up 4 points shy of knocking off 2-seeded LSU-Alexandria in the RRAC Tournament semifinals. However, 77-73 win by the Generals spelled the end of Xavier's conference tournament run.
In a game that was close throughout, LSU-A outscored XULA by just 2 points in both the first and second halves.
The loss overshadowed a stellar performance by point guard Bentravin Phillips, who scored 28 points, including a 10-for-11 showing at the free-throw line. Phillips also accounted for 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
