PINEVILLE, La. - Xavier's baseball team suffered a pair of tough losses Saturday, falling 11-1 in both halves of a doubleheader against No. 14 Louisiana Christian.
In Game 1, Ashton Celestine went 2-for-3, and Cohen Boyd went 1-for 3 to pace the offense, while Lawrence Steed scored the team's lone run and stole a base.
Pitching-wise, reliever Dominik Reimonenq had a strong showing. He worked 3.2 innings and struck out 4 while allowing no runs in the first game.
In Game 2, Bryce Thomas went 1-for-3 with a double, and Paul Ramseur provided the team's RBI, a sixth-inning sacrifice fly that scored Kendall Larry.
Jeremy Clark took the loss despite pitching a solid 4.1 innings and striking out 4.
XULA returns to action Tuesday night at 6 with a home contest against crosstown opponent Southern University of New Orleans. The contest will take place at Skelly-Rupp Stadium.
