XULA falls in Game 3 against Southwest

NEW ORLEANS - The Xavier baseball team dropped Game 3 of its weekend series against Southwest, falling 12-2 Sunday at Skelly-Rupp Stadium. 

A rough second inning, one in which Southwest scored 10 runs, proved the difference in the contest. 

Offensively, there were bright spots for the Gold Rush, as infielder Kendall Larry went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Center fielder Cohen Boyd went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Ashton Celestine went 1-for-2 with a run scored. 

Xavier returns to action Tuesday with a visit to Baton Rouge and NCAA Division I opponent Southern University. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
