Clayton, Mayberry performing among SSAC's best at their positions

Two defensive standouts for Xavier Volleyball are producing stats that indicate they are among the best in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Heading into this weekend's play, junior middle blocker Zoie Mayberry, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, is in her third consecutive week as the No. 2 player in the conference in blocks per set. Her 1.21 average is just behind Tennessee Southern's Amree Patterson (1.55).

Meanwhile, Michaela Clayton, a redshirt sophomore from Thonotosassa, Florida, who has frequently served as XULA's libero, is No. 3 in the SSAC with a 4.35 digs-per-set average, just behind Loyola New Orleans's Lola Blancher (4.73) and Blue Mountain's MAbbi Williams (5.57).

Xavier is at home this week and will host Tennessee Southern Friday at 6 p.m. and Blue Mountain Saturday at noon.
