The athletic department established the Xavier University of Louisiana Athletic Hall of Fame in the university's 97th year (2022).
The Athletic Hall of Fame provides an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of athletes, coaches, teams
and contributors to Xavier University athletics while enhancing and reinforcing the university's tradition and commitment to excellence.
Selection Criteria:
1. An individual who will be considered on the basis of undergraduate athletic achievement must meet all of the following criteria:
A. Have attended XULA for at least 2 years or be a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana
B. Have graduated at least 5 years prior to nomination
C. Have been a member of a varsity team for a minimum of 2 years
D. Have represented Xavier University of Louisiana in a positive fashion both as an undergraduate as well as an alumnus.
In addition, nominees must meet at least one of the following additional criteria:
A. All Conference member for 2 or more years
B. National Champion
C. All-American
D. Distinguished athletic performance on a regional and national level.
2. Coaches, administrators, and special supporters of Xavier University are also eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame, if they:
A. Have a nomination submitted on their behalf detailing the special nature of their contribution to Xavier University of Louisiana Athletics
B. Have conducted themselves in a manner that brings credit to Xavier University of Louisiana.
3. Respected Xavier University of Louisiana alumna who brings favor to their alma mater by achieving success in areas relating to athletics is eligible. Nomination and induction consideration must be five years after their graduation (Example: an alumna athlete who does not qualify based on #1).
4. An athletic team shall be eligible for induction as a unit. The induction of a team shall not prohibit the separate induction of one or more of its members. If a team is inducted, the Hall of Fame Committee shall select a representative to accept the award (If the entire team cannot attend). Team members may not nominate teams that they played for.
5. Persons currently coaching at Xavier University of Louisiana will not be considered for induction if the primary rationale for the consideration revolves around their coaching accomplishments while currently at Xavier.
