Paige Gauthier begins her third season in 2017-18
as a women's basketball assistant coach at Xavier University of Louisiana.
In her first season on the coaching staff (2015-16), Gauthier
helped the Gold Nuggets go 22-13, win the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament
and qualify for the NAIA Division I National Championship. In 2016-17 she helped
XULA go 19-13 and finish second in the GCAC Tournament.
Gauthier received her bachelor's degree from XULA
after playing four seasons (2010-14) for the Gold Nuggets. She is one of four
Gold Nuggets with 700 points, 400 rebounds, 250 assists and 200 steals in a career.
Gauthier averaged 5.5 points in 128 games — 7.8 points per game her final two seasons.
She helped XULA win two GCAC regular-season
championships (2011-12 and 2012-13) and three GCAC Tournament championships
(2010-11, 2011-12 and 2013-14).
As a senior (2013-14), Gauthier ranked 26th in NAIA Division with 2.3 steals per game.
Gauthier was All-GCAC and All-GCAC Tournament as
a senior and made the GCAC Honor Roll her freshman year.
Gauthier also competed in track and field. She was
runner-up in the shot put at the 2013 GCAC outdoor championship meet
and helped XULA win the women's team championship.
A 5-foot-6 guard at XULA, Gauthier is from Lake Charles, La.,
and a graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School.
