     •  2020-21 academic year is his second at XULA . . . First day on the job was June 3, 2019
     •  Has 11 years' experience coaching at the club, prep and collegiate levels
     •  XULA highlights during his first season (2019):
     — Named AVCA NAIA Southeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year
     — First XULA team to reach the NAIA National Championship Final Site
     — Gold Nuggets repeated as Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament champions
     — School season records for victories (31) and blocks per set (1.93)
     — The program's highest-ever national ranking: among "others receiving votes" (29th place) in the NAIA postseason coaches poll (Dec. 12, 2019)
     •  Assistant coach for two seasons at Indiana University Kokomo, where he helped the Cougars go a combined 53-19 in their second (2013) and third (2014) seasons as an intercollegiate program
     •  Five seasons as an assistant coach at North Montgomery High School in his hometown of Crawfordsville, Ind., where the Chargers were 123-45 during his tenure
     •  Helped his club team, the Irish Juniors of Indianapolis, finish fifth in the boys 18 division of the 2007 Junior Olympics . . . Bowerman was a Swiss Army knife for that team; he played defensive specialist, setter and outside hitter
     •  Attended college in his hometown, too . . . He received his bachelor's degree from Wabash College in 2011, then obtained a master's from IU Kokomo in 2016 . . . He was an honor student at both places
     •  He replaced Hilary Lobenstein, who was named head coach at NCAA Division II West Alabama in February 2019
     •  What XULA head coach Pat Kendrick said when Bowerman was hired: "After reviewing all of the outstanding candidates, it became apparent that Ryan's skill set as a coach would fit in well with where Xavier volleyball is headed. Ryan is a student of the game. He has a good knowledge of how to train athletes. I believe he will be play a big role in helping Xavier volleyball move to the next level."
