In Her Own Words
• How I became interested in my sport: When I played for my JV middle school team, there was a level of skill where our coaches and peers believed in us even though we were amateur volleyball players. Their faith in us led me to continue with the sport, and over time I began to love it more and more.
• Three words that describe me: Creative, caring, welcoming
• My goals for the 2017-18 academic year — academic, athletic, personal: Get all A's and increase my stats on the court
• The most creative thing I do, or something creative I'd like to be able to do: As an art major I focus on painting, drawing and graphic design. During my free time I create cover art for local music artists, and I also create posters and logos.
• The tastiest thing I can cook: Avocado and tomato stewed chicken
• Favorite ice cream flavor: Rocky road
• Special routine or superstition before I compete: Before a match I like to visualize the team winning the match . . . Also go through the details we work on the most at practice
• My definition of success: Working your hardest and most efficiently, the win will follow
• A movie title that would describe my life: Poetic Justice
• The best advice I was ever given: Never give up on anything, even if you have never done the task in front of you. Work through it like you've been doing it your whole life.
