shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half Saturday to rally for a 71-56
Gulf Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball victory against William Carey.
The Gold Nuggets (21-5, 14-0), ranked 21st in NAIA Division I,
won their 14th in a row.
Jazmoné Kelly,
Brittany Powell and
LaTashia Wise scored 10 points apiece for XULA.
Powell grabbed nine rebounds, and
Danielle Jones had seven.
Consuela Tucker, with 21 points, was the lone double-figure scorer for William Carey (11-11, 9-5).
The Lady Saders shot 61.1 percent from the floor to take
a 29-26 halftime lead, then shot 33.3 percent in the second half. XULA outscored
William Carey 45-27 after halftime.
XULA will visit city and GCAC rival Loyola at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
