NEW ORLEANS —
Xavier University of Louisiana rolled to a 30-point halftime lead Monday
in an 84-56 women's basketball victory against Southeastern Baptist.
The Gold Nuggets (5-3)
snapped a three-game losing streak.
Nia Bishop scored 14 points,
Destinee Pointer 12 and
Victory Udechi 11 for XULA.
Rayna Ross and
O.C. Mbakop Ngassam scored 10 apiece. Bishop and Udechi sat out
the second half, as did a third starter,
Abryhia Irons.
XULA led 30-12
after one quarter and 57-27 at halftime.
Kania Arrington scored 13 points,
Mahogandy McNulty 12 and Briana Holcomb 10 for Southeastern Baptist (0-10).
Miah Hall grabbed 10 rebounds.
XULA gained 38 turnovers,
including 23 steals. Ross produced seven steals, and Udechi had six.
Bishop has led XULA in scoring
in every game this season.
XULA will visit NCAA Division I
Louisiana-Lafayette in a 6 p.m. Wednesday game the Gold Nuggets will
count as an exhibition.
