HAWKINS, Texas —
Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Jarvis Christian
25-12, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20 Saturday to complete a two-match Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball sweep.
The Gold Nuggets (13-2 overall, 8-0 RRAC)
have won 12 straight and are tied for first place in the RRAC with Our Lady of the Lake,
which defeated Huston-Tillotson 25-15, 25-19, 25-19 on the road.
XULA, which played
its last five matches on the road, will play host to RRAC opponent Texas A&M-Texarkana
in a two-match series Friday and Saturday at the University of New Orleans Human Performance
Center. XULA's Convocation Center is unavailable through at least the end of October
because of the replacement of a water-damaged floor.
XULA's active streaks include:
• 30 consecutive victories in regular-season conference matches on opponents' courts . . .
The last loss was in five sets at Talladega on Oct. 29, 2016, when XULA was a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
XULA joined the RRAC in July 2021.
• 16 consecutive victories in RRAC regular-season matches.
• 12 consecutive victories on opponents' courts — eight this season.
XULA won 140 of its last 143 regular-season conference matches.
The current 12-match overall win streak is the Gold Nuggets' longest since 14 straight in the spring of 2021,
when NAIA volleyball was a two-semester sport because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current streak is the
fourth longest in program history.
