NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana, the 2022 NAIA national champion in co-ed competitive cheer, will play host to a recruitment clinic Oct. 15-16.
"This event is for high-school students throughout the country," said Glenn Caston, the NAIA National Coach of the Year last season. "It will be a wonderful learning experience. Particpants will walk in the life of a XULA cheerleader while also gaining new skills."
Cost of the clinic is $50. Participants can register online.
XULA won NAIA nationals in March with a meet-record score of 93.70 out of a possible 100 points and finished the season 33-0. In 2021 XULA placed fifth at NAIA nationals.
The 2022-23 academic year is XULA cheer's fourth as a varsity program. Competitive cheer is the only XULA sport to win an NAIA national team championship.
