Glay picks up national Champions of Character honor

TOPEKA, Kan. - XULA competitive cheerleader Anthony Glay has added an individual accolade to the national championship he won with his team Saturday. 

Glay earned a prestigious NAIA Champions of Character award at the Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championship. 

The award, one of the marks of pride for the NAIA, is meant to honor those student-athletes who embody the five points of emphasis that form the foundation of the organization's core values. 

Per the NAIA website, the five points of the Champions of Character program are: 
  • Integrity / Know and do what is right
  • Respect / Treating others the way you want to be treated
  • Responsibility / Embrace opportunities to contribute
  • Sportsmanship / Bring your best to all competition
  • Servant Leadership / Serve the common good

The NAIA is celebrating 25 years of the Champions of Character program.
