Competitive Cheer

Two-sport star Jeffries was epitome of excellence as true freshman

One never knows what the future holds, but rising XULA senior Rochelle Jeffries has given herself an inside track on joining the annals of the all-time Xavier greats.

Jeffries, a true freshman from Tukwila, Washington, did about as much as a student-athlete can do in a debut season.

A two-sport athlete, Jeffries ended her 2025-2026 season with a national title in cheer, All-American honors in both cheer and track, conference championships in both cheer and track, and a 3.83 grade-point average.

She also claimed a Southern States Athletics Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor, earned a bronze in the 100-meter hurdles at the NAIA Outdoor championships, and won 5 medals (3 gold, a silver, and a bronze) en route to being named female MVP at the 2026 RRAC Outdoor Championships.

Jeffries never finished lower than fifth place in any of her events at the RRAC meet.

In cheer, Jeffries was a major contributor to the Gold's 2026 NAIA national title and was named First-Team All-American for her efforts.

Success has been Jeffries' standard even before she came to New Orleans. Last year, as a senior at Foster High back home in Washington, she swept the hurdles races in 2A State Championship Meet, claiming gold in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles.

The Xavier family joins in unison to congratulate Rochelle Jeffries on laying a most impressive foundation to what promises to be a top-flight career.
