Jeremy Lindsey scored 15 points, and
Xavier Reaves had 14 points and 11 rebounds Thursday in Xavier University of Louisiana's 65-57 Red River Athletic Conference men's basketball victory against Texas College.
Lindsey made 3-of-4 3-pointers, and his first trey put the Gold Rush (8-4 overall, 4-2 RRAC) ahead to stay in the third minute. Reaves produced his third double-double this season.
Four XULA reserves scored seven-or-more-points, including
Kaleb Huggins with eight and
Chris Ward with seven, both season highs.
Jayven Humphrey had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Steers (6-6, 3-4), and Tim Denton's six steals were the most in a game by a XULA opponent this season.
XULA improved to 7-0 this season when its field-goal percentage is higher than opponents'. The Gold Rush outshot the Steers 47.5 to 35.5 percent.
XULA will play host to Jarvis Christian at 4 p.m. Saturday.
