Kennedy Wade had 16 kills and hit a season-best .464 Saturday to lead Xavier University of Louisiana in a 25-15, 25-18, 26-24 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory against Huston-Tillotson.
       The Gold Nuggets (13-4 overall, 10-0 RRAC) earned their 10th consecutive victory and maintained their one-match lead in the RRAC over Our Lady of the Lake and Texas A&M-Texarkana.
       Wade produced nine kills in a final set in which XULA rallied from 14-11 and 19-17 deficits. Wade's hitting percentage is her best at XULA in a match with 25-or-more attacks.
       Wade was the only player to reach double-figure kills, but four teammates had at least six.
Stella Dineva and
Taylor Parker had eight kills apiece,
Sydney Murray had seven, and
Kendall Mack had a season-high six.
Ruxandra Flueras had 16 digs, and Murray had a season-high 14. Filling the box score again was freshman setter
Bengisu Kazazlar, who had two kills, four aces, one block, 33 assists and eight digs.
       Parker, a freshman middle blocker, hit .462 to finish the two-match series at .621 — 20 kills, two errors and 29 attacks. Parker had three blocks, Mack had two, and Dineva served two aces.
       Kennedy White had nine kills and three aces for the Rams (4-12, 3-5).
       XULA outhit Huston-Tillotson .300 to .099 and produced advantages of 47-25 in kills, 8-5 in aces and 45-32 in digs. It was the fourth consecutive match that XULA hit at least .300 and the sixth time in the last seven matches.
       XULA won for 66th consecutive time in a regular-season conference match on its campus. The streak began Oct. 23, 2010, in the Gold Nuggets' previous home, The Barn.
       XULA will visit Texas A&M-Texarkana for matches at 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
