Red River Athletic Conference standings
       SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Our Lady of the Lake forced a winner-take-all match for the Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball regular-season championship when it defeated Xavier University of Louisiana 27-25, 27-25, 27-25 Wednesday.
       The Gold Nuggets (17-6 overall, 14-1 RRAC) and the Saints (17-11, 14-1) will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at OLLU's Mabee Gymnasium in the regular-season finale for both.
       OLLU rallied from deficits of 16-15 in the first set, 24-21 in the second set and 22-18 in the third.
       Mia Francis had 15 kills and Camila Ramirez 10 for the Saints. Tina Trevino had 18 digs, and Madalyn Gonzalez had five blocks.

Sydney Murray had 15 kills, two aces, seven digs and a block for XULA.
Ruxandra Flueras had 17 digs and two aces, and
Kennedi Bell had four blocks.
       OLLU outhit XULA .209 to .168 and had a 48-33 advantage in kills. It was the first time this season that the Gold Nuggets hit less than .200 in an RRAC match.
       OLLU ended the Gold Nuggets' 38-match win streak in regular-season conference matches on opponents' courts. The last loss had been in five sets at Talladega on Oct. 29, 2016, when XULA was a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. XULA joined the RRAC in July 2021 and was 17-0 in RRAC regular-season matches on opponents' courts before Wednesday.
