PINEVILLE, La. —
Vivionna Robles pitched a
complete game Tuesday, and
Madison Winston and
Kadence Means had two RBIs apiece
to help Xavier University of Louisiana defeat Louisiana Christian 6-2 in the
opener of a Red River Athletic Conference softball doubleheader.
The Wildcats split with the Gold Nuggets;
Bella Houck's three-run homer with none out in the seventh inning gave LCU a 6-3 victory.
XULA tied the second game on
Mecolett Bradley's
three-run homer in the seventh.
Robles allowed five hits, all singles,
and struck out two in the opener. XULA scored in three of the first four innings,
including a three-run fourth that featured run-scoring singles from Means and
Chenai Keyes and
Alexis Richardson's RBI double.
XULA is 5-10 overall and 1-3 in the RRAC;
LCU is 11-11 and 5-1. The Gold Nuggets will return to the road for
RRAC doubleheaders against Jarvis Christian at noon CST Friday and Texas College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
