Stella Dineva's
13 kills and .440 hitting percentage, both season highs, led Xavier University of Louisiana
women's volleyball Friday in a 25-17, 26-24, 25-22 Red River Athletic Conference victory
against Louisiana Christian.
The Gold Nuggets (6-4 overall, 3-0 RRAC)
and Wildcats (5-1, 2-1), will meet at noon Saturday at LCU's H.O. West Fieldhouse to
conclude their two-match series.
Dineva also had three blocks and an ace.
Sydney Murray had 11 kills, three aces and hit .286 for XULA,
Ruxandra Flueras had 16 digs,
and
Bengisu Kazazlar produced her sixth double-double this season: 20 assists and 11 digs.
Kate Campbell and Aniah Adams had six kills apiece
for Louisiana Christian, and Kierra Jones had four blocks.
XULA outhit LCU .250 to .082 and had advantages of 42-24 in kills, 10-8 in aces
and 53-41 in digs.
The Gold Nuggets extended their winning streak to 33
in regular-season conference matches on opponents' courts. The last loss was in five sets at Talladega on Oct. 29, 2016,
when XULA was a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. XULA joined the RRAC in July 2021.
