AUSTIN, Texas — Kamea Uitenham and Taylor Parker combined for 25 kills and a .362 hitting percentage Friday to help Xavier University of Louisiana earn a 25-9, 26-24, 25-21 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory against Huston-Tillotson.
        The Gold Nuggets (8-12 overall, 5-2 RRAC) and Rams (3-13, 3-6) will meet at 1 p.m. CDT Saturday to conclude their two-match series.
        Uitenham had 13 kills and hit .269. Parker had 12 kills and hit .476. XULA served a season-high-tying 11 aces, four by Olivia Arroyo in the first set.
        XULA's Bengisu Kazazlar had 28 assists and 10 digs — her eighth double-double this season.
        Huston-Tillotson lost for the 14th straight time at home dating to 2023 and the fifth consecutive time overall. Chloe Gaytan had nine kills for the Rams.
        XULA outscored the Rams 18-3 to close the first set. The Gold Nuggets rallied from deficits of 16-11 and 24-23 in the second set and 10-7 in the third.
