DALLAS — Freshman
Kennedy Campbell's 13 kills and .722 hitting percentage, both career highs, led Xavier University of Louisiana in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-17 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory Friday against Paul Quinn.
The Gold Nuggets (12-13 overall, 9-2 RRAC) and the Lady Tigers (12-10, 5-6) will meet at noon Saturday to conclude their two-match series.
Campbell, a 6-foot middle blocker/right side, had six first-set kills and ended the 83-minute match with a kill. Her hitting percentage is XULA's best in a match this season with a minimum of 10 attacks.
Campbell hit .379 with 66 kills in XULA's last 10 matches.
Taylor Parker had 13 kills and three blocks for XULA.
Bengisu Kazazlar and
Kennedi Bell hit .833 with five kills apiece, and
Ruxandra Flueras had 11 digs. Kazazlar had 36 assists.
Carrie Weston had 13 kills for Paul Quinn, and Spirit Phipps and Laila Beck had three blocks apiece.
XULA outhit Paul Quinn .330 to .262 and had a 46-33 advantage in kills.
It was XULA's ninth consecutive Red River victory. The Gold Nuggets won 11 of their last 15 matches after a 1-9 start.

• Our Lady of the Lake won 25-10, 25-5, 25-12 at home against Texas College.
• Huston-Tillotson won 25-16, 21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-12 at Southwest (N.M.)
• Texas A&M-Texarkana won 25-20, 25-22, 25-17 at Louisiana Christian.
