Arroyo, Campbell double up to lead XULA past LCU

        NEW ORLEANS — Olivia Arroyo and Kennedy Campbell reached double-figure kills for the first time at Xavier University of Louisiana and led the Gold Nuggets to a 19-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory Friday against Louisiana Christian.
        The Gold Nuggets (6-11 overall, 3-2 RRAC) and Wildcats (10-9, 4-1) will meet at noon Saturday at XULA's Convocation Center to conclude their two-match series.
        Arroyo produced 13 kills, a match high, and had seven digs and a block. Campbell hit .476 with 11 kills and tacked on an ace and seven digs.
        Kamea Uitenham hit .300 for XULA with 12 kills, two aces, six digs and three blocks, and Taylor Parker hit .320 with 12 kills and four blocks. Ruxandra Flueras had 19 digs — she reached double figures in every match this season — and Bengisu Kazazlar had five kills, 37 assists, two aces, two blocks and 16 digs.
        Katie Spell had 10 kills, seven digs and four blocks for LCU, and Kierra Jones had five aces and seven blocks.
        XULA outhit LCU .245 to .118 and produced advantages of 57-33 in kills and 63-49 in digs. The Gold Nuggets outhit the Wildcats .258 to .061 in the final three sets.
        The Gold Nuggets moved the Wildcats out of first place in the RRAC. Texas A&M-Texarkana climbed to the top at 6-1 in conference, followed by LCU and Our Lady of the Lake in a tie for second, then XULA.
        In other RRAC matches Friday:
        •  TAMUT won 25-12, 25-20, 25-8 at Huston-Tillotson.
        •  Paul Quinn, playing at home, defeated Southwest (N.M.) 25-20, 26-24, 25-15.
        •  OLLU won 25-22, 25-12, 23-25, 23-25, 15-12 at Jarvis Christian.
