Gold Nuggets hit season-high .376, sweep LCU series

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana hit a season-high .376 Saturday and rolled to a 25-17, 25-17, 25-10 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory against Louisiana Christian.
        That gave the Gold Nuggets (7-11 overall, 4-2 RRAC) their fourth consecutive victory and a two-match sweep against the Wildcats (10-9, 4-2), who entered as the only team unbeaten in Red River matches.
        XULA's Taylor Parker hit .583 with 16 kills, a season high, and four blocks. Kamea Uitenham hit .333, a season high, with 14 kills and two aces. Kennedy Campbell hit .429 with seven kills and three blocks.
        Parker, Uitenham and Campbell combined to hit .396 with 72 kills in the series.
        Also supporting the Gold Nuggets were Bengisu Kazazlar with six aces and four blocks — both career highs — 37 assists and eight digs; Kennedi Bell with a career-best seven blocks; Ruxandra Flueras with 13 digs; and Olivia Arroyo with six kills.
        Megan O'Neal had seven kills for the Wildcats, who served zero aces after recording nine Friday.
        XULA is 62-0 in the Convocation Center in regular-season conference matches. Including its final three seasons (2010-12) at The Barn, XULA won its last 68 regular-season conference matches on its campus. The streak began Oct. 23, 2010.
        XULA will visit city rival Loyola at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Gold Nuggets' next home match will be Oct. 18.
        In other RRAC matches Saturday:
        •  Our Lady of the Lake won 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 at Jarvis Christian.
        •  Paul Quinn, playing at home, won in four sets against Southwest (N.M.), but no set scores were available.
        •  League-leading Texas A&M-Texarkana won 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 at Huston-Tillotson.
