Xavier University of Louisiana made a school-record 13 3-pointers
Thursday and cruised past North American 102-79 in Red River Athletic Conference women's basketball.
The Gold Nuggets, 6-0 for the second
straight season, will stay on the road and play RRAC opponent Huston-Tillotson at 1 p.m. CST Saturday.
XULA is 3-0 in conference.

Shania Swan made
three 3s apiece, and
Joy Campbell,
Fatima Black,
Janiya Reed and
Laila Sigure made one apiece.
Swan's 3-pointer with 4:32 remaining tied the previous record of 12, and Black broke it at 3:25.
The Gold Nuggets made 12 3s three times:
against SUNO on Jan. 20, 2020, Tougaloo on Jan. 7, 2019, and Loyola (N.O.) on Nov. 6, 2018.
Banks scored 20 points, Campbell 17 and Shelley 13.
Campbell's points were a season high, and so were her 10 assists and six steals. Black, Reed and
Zaria Harleaux scored nine
points apiece.
Elisa Peralta scored 26 points and
Victoria Moore 16 for the Stallions (3-3, 1-2).
The Gold Nuggets trailed 30-22 in the 14th minute, then made six 3s,
the final two by Swan, in a 26-3 run that gave them a 48-33 halftime lead. XULA shot 58 percent
from the floor and 52 percent on 3s, both season bests.
