STAFFORD, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana made a school-record 13 3-pointers Thursday and cruised past North American 102-79 in Red River Athletic Conference women's basketball.
The Gold Nuggets, 6-0 for the second straight season, will stay on the road and play RRAC opponent Huston-Tillotson at 1 p.m. CST Saturday. XULA is 3-0 in conference.
XULA's Lauren Banks, Kam Shelley and Shania Swan made three 3s apiece, and Joy Campbell, Fatima Black, Janiya Reed and Laila Sigure made one apiece. Swan's 3-pointer with 4:32 remaining tied the previous record of 12, and Black broke it at 3:25.
