NEW ORLEANS — Marian (Ind.) saved two set points in the second, then rallied from six down in the third to earn a 25-13, 27-25, 26-24 women's volleyball victory Friday against Xavier University of Louisiana in the Big Easy Blastoff.
The Knights (8-1) took a 2-sets-to-zero lead after rallying from a 24-22 deficit, then clinched after erasing the Gold Nuggets' leads of 17-11 and 21-20 in the third.
Mikayla Christiansen hit .257 with 13 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Marian (8-1), and Gabby Fish hit .368 with eight kills.
Freshman
Kamea Uitenham produced her first XULA double-double, 13 kills and 11 digs.
Kennedy Campbell hit .500 with seven kills,
Ruxandra Flueras had 13 digs, and
Taylor Parker had eight blocks.
Marian outhit XULA .207 to .103. The Gold Nuggets hit .207 the final two sets after hitting minus-.128 in the first.

Campbellsville 3, Loyola (N.O.) 1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 27-25): Molly Shannon hit .318 with 20 kills, 10 digs, four aces and two blocks to lead the Tigers past the Wolf Pack.

MidAmerica Nazarene 3, Campbellsville 1 (29-27, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22): The Pioneers won despite being outhit .135 to .121. Avery Lowe had 19 kills, and Emily Mathis had 27 digs and three aces for MNU.

Marian (Ind.) 3, Columbia (Mo.) 2 (22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-4): Khori Dryden, Sarah Bennett and Madison Brooks had two kills apiece in the final set to help the Knights complete their comeback against the Cougars, who are ranked seventh in the NAIA. Christiansen had 16 kills, two aces, six blocks and 17 digs for Marian.

MidAmerica Nazarene 3, Loyola (N.O.) 1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18): Mia Olson and Alyssa Reichard had 12 kills apiece for the Pioneers, and Ella Burnett had 10 kills and six blocks. Amaya Bazemore hit .520 with 16 kills and seven kills for the Wolf Pack.
