2024 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball standings
HOBBS, N.M. — Xavier University of Louisiana
women's volleyball completed a two-match Red River Athletic Conference sweep of Southwest (N.M.)
with a 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 victory Saturday.
Kamea Uitenham had 13 kills and eight digs,
and
Ruxandra Flueras produced a season-high-tying 26 digs to help the Gold Nuggets (5-11 overall, 2-2 RRAC)
win for the fourth time in their last six matches.
Olivia Arroyo had eight kills and two blocks, both season highs,
and nine digs for XULA.
Taylor Parker had seven kills and seven blocks — the sophomore leads the Red River
and is 16th in the NAIA with 1.24 blocks per set —
Kennedy Campbell had six kills, and
Zoie Mayberry had a season-high five kills.
XULA setter
Bengisu Kazazlar produced three kills,
35 assists, two aces, five digs and a block.
Laila Person had 11 digs and reached double figures for
the fourth time in the last five matches.
Danna Gamez had nine kills, Graciela Collazo served three
aces, Aneesa Thompson had 18 digs for the Mustangs (1-7, 1-5), who have lost all six of their home matches this season.
XULA rallied from a 10-5 third-set deficit, and Mayberry's kill ended the match.
In other RRAC matches Saturday:
• Huston-Tillotson won 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 at Texas College.
• Our Lady of the Lake won 25-19, 25-17, 25-18 at home against Paul Quinn.
• Texas A&M-Texarkana won 25-14, 25-14, 25-19 at
home against Jarvis Christian.
Next for the Gold Nuggets will be a two-match RRAC series at XULA's Convocation Center
against Louisiana Christian: 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday. The first 50 fans Friday will receive a free
tie-dye T-shirt.
