Senior-day honorees
Samira Roper,
Charley Prouse,
Jayda Wyatt,
Crislyn Gregory,
Amelia Thompson,
Faye Butterworth and
Lanettia Aikens combined for four
goals and four assists Saturday to help Xavier University of Louisiana
roll to an 8-0 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer victory against Jarvis Christian.
The Gold Nuggets (6-2-2 overall, 5-0-1 Red River)
have not allowed a goal in six conference games. The winning goalkeeper was another
senior,
Paula Camus.
XULA honored nine seniors, including
Amelia Suma.
Roper scored two of the first three goals and climbed into a tie for fourth in the
NAIA with 17 goals this season. Prouse and Wyatt scored one goal apiece, and Gregory,
Thompson, Butterworth and Aikens had one assist apiece.
Alina Paiz scored twice for XULA,
and
Shakiana Dagher and
Chie Akayama scored one goal apiece.
Fauziya Prothro had two assists.
Jarvis Christian is 1-9-1 and 1-5.
XULA outshot the Lady Bulldogs 37-4 and had a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.

The Gold Nuggets will return to Texas
for 1 p.m. RRAC games Thursday at A&M-Victoria and Saturday at North American.
The next home game will kick off at 1 p.m. Oct. 23 against RRAC opponent Louisiana Christian
at Lafreniere Park.
