NEW ORLEANS — City rival Loyola did a 180 Wednesday and departed the Convocation Center with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-21 women's volleyball victory against Xavier University of Louisiana.
        The Wolf Pack (19-7) made amends for a three-set loss to the Gold Nuggets Aug. 23 at Loyola.
        Clarissa Dupree, Isis Harink and Alexa Palmer, who hit a combined .062 against XULA in August, combined for .339 this time. Dupree had 10 kills, Harink nine and Palmer eight. They were among six Loyola players with five-or-more kills.
        Kennedy Campbell hit .435 with 11 kills, one ace and one block for the Gold Nuggets (14-6). Kendall Evans had four blocks, and Michaela Clayton served two aces.
        Loyola outhit XULA .320 to .179. In August the Gold Nuggets produced a .223 to .083 advantage.
        XULA's homestand will continue with Red River Athletic Conference matches against Texas A&M-Texarkana at 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday. Friday will be a Dig Pink match for breast cancer awareness, and XULA will wear pink jerseys.
