Texas A&M-Texarkana saved two first-set points Friday
en route to a 30-28, 25-22, 25-18 Red River Athletic Conference
women's volleyball victory against Xavier University of Louisiana.
Paulina Dobreva had 15 kills, three blocks, an ace and 10 digs for
the Eagles (19-4 overall, 5-0 RRAC), who won their seventh in a row.
Kaitlyn Cabral had 12 kills, including the Eagles' final three points of the first set.
Flor Lazo's kill for TAMUT tied the first-set score at 24,
and Kelby Coutee's kill tied it at 26.
Kennedy Campbell hit .321 with 12 kills
for the Gold Nuggets (14-7, 2-1), and
Taylor Parker hit .500 with eight kills and six blocks.
TAMUT outhit XULA .194 to .147 and had a 50-36 advantage in kills.
It was a Dig Pink match for breast cancer awareness,
and XULA faculty and staff in attendance were recognized and thanked.
