Kamea Uitenham hit .320 Friday with 11 kills, two aces, two blocks
and eight digs to help Xavier University of Louisiana earn
a 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 Red River Athletic Conference
women's volleyball victory against Louisiana Christian.
The Gold Nuggets (15-8 overall, 3-2 RRAC)
and Wildcats (2-16, 0-7) will meet at noon Saturday to conclude their
two-match series.
Michaela Clayton served three aces for XULA, which ended its four-match losing streak,
Kennedy Campbell had four blocks, and
Felise Jones had 12 assists, eight digs and two aces.
Holly Rowe had eight kills, three aces,
one block and 10 digs for Louisiana Christian, which has lost 12 straight.
Louisiana Christian had a 33-29 advantage in kills,
but XULA outhit the Wildcats .207 to .129 and produced advantages of 11-7 in aces and 6-1 in blocks.
