TYLER, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana served a season-high-tying 14 aces Friday in a 25-10, 25-18, 25-5 Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball victory against Texas College.
It was the RRAC opener for the Gold Nuggets (13-4), who won for the sixth time in their last seven matches. The Lady Steers are 0-7 and 0-3.
XULA's
Kamea Uitenham served a career-high-tying five aces, and
Alaysia Miller served a career-best four.
Sydney Murray and
Michaela Clayton had two aces apiece, and
Felise Jones had one.
XULA had 24 kills, eight by Uitenham and six by
Kennedy Campbell. Freshman
Ashley Peake produced the first three kills of her college career.
The teams will meet at noon CDT Saturday to complete their two-match series. XULA's next home match will start at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 against city rival Loyola.
