TYLER, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Texas College 25-11, 25-12, 25-6 Saturday to complete a two-match Red River Athletic Conference women's volleyball sweep.
        The Gold Nuggets (14-4 overall, 2-0 RRAC) won for the seventh time in their last eight matches. The Lady Steers are 0-8 and 0-4.
        Kamea Uitenham had 15 kills, a season high, and three aces for XULA. Laila Person had seven kills and Kennedy Campbell six. XULA served 10 aces, three by Felise Jones and two by freshman Ashley Peake.
        Peake's aces were the first of her XULA career. Friday she produced her first three kills as a Gold Nugget.
        Three Red River teams are unbeaten after the first two weeks of conference matches. Our Lady of the Lake is 4-0, and Texas A&M-Texarkana, like XULA, is 2-0.
        The Gold Nuggets' only match next week will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday against William Carey in Hattiesburg, Miss.
