STAFFORD, Texas - The Gold Nuggets' 2025-2026 Red River Athletics Conference campaign ended in disappointment Wednesday afternoon, as Xavier fell 74-60 to North American.
The game was close in the first quarter, with North American (3-1, 1-0 RRAC) enjoying a 15-14 lead after 10 minutes of play. Unfortunately for Xavier (3-3, 0-1 RRAC), the Stallions went on a 24-8 run in the second quarter and never allowed the Gold Nuggets to claw their way back into the game.
XULA showed heart in the contest to be sure, outscoring North American in the third quarter and matching the Stallions in the fourth.
Three Xavier players scored in double figures on the night.
Shania Swan led the way with points, while Alicia Blanton added 13 and Tiarra Tillison 12. Swan and Laila Sigure shared the lead in rebounds for XULA with 5 apiece. Tillison added 6 assists.
The Gold Nuggets will have a brief Thanksgiving and finals break before returning to action with a pair of road games in mid-December. XULA will visit North Texas-Dallas at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, and then venture to Hobbs, New Mexico, on Dec. 13 to face Southwest at 1 p.m.
Xavier's next home game will be just before Christmas, Dec. 18, versus Our Lady of the Lake. Tipoff for that contest will be 1 p.m.
