Big Easy Blastoff schedule
NEW ORLEANS —
Xavier University of Louisiana women's volleyball rallied
for a 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23 victory against Cumberland University
in the first of two XULA Saturday matches at its Big Easy Blastoff.
Kennedy Campbell
hit a .372 with a career-high-tying 18 kills for the Gold Nuggets.
The sophomore also had four blocks and seven digs.
Taylor Parker hit .550 with 12 kills and
four blocks for XULA, and
Kamea Uitenham had 11 kills, two aces and 15 digs.
Charity Metcalf had 34 assists, her most in a XULA match since 2022.
Lila Cade had 13 kills, 10 digs, an ace
and two blocks for Cumberland (9-3), which finished 2-2 in the tournament.
XULA had a 60-49 advantage in kills
and outhit the Phoenix .232 to .164.
